Dr. Ken Berding is leading the charge to improve biblical literacy in our culture. Dr. Berding is Professor of New Testament at my alma mater, Biola University (he taught me Greek!). Dr. Berding is passionate about this subject, having written an article in the newest edition of the Biola Magazine entitled, “The Crisis of Biblical Illiteracy.” Other Christian news outlets have reported on this too: The Christian Post, The Blaze. Recently, as well, Berding has also authored “Bible Revival” about the need for the church to know the Bible well.
But instead of just bemoaning the problem in the larger society, and, unfortunately, within the church, Dr. Berding has created a program to curb this problem called Bible Fluency.
The website has loads of materials to help people learn more about the Bible. He’s created songs to aid memorization of the key themes and stories in the Bible as part of a larger curriculum designed to make someone “fluent” in the Bible in 24 weeks (12 weeks for each Testament).
Bible Fluency is perfect for churches and small groups, especially those that want to gain a better understanding of the Bible.
Below is video featuring Dr. Berding in which he gives his perspective on the problem of Biblical Illiteracy.
So check out Bible Fluency! Tell your friends, pastors, youth pastors, small group leaders, and anyone else that you think may be interested.
