I’m going to do another food blog post about some of my favorite things to eat at Disneyland. I go to Disneyland quite often, and there are some really delicious things to eat there. Thanks to my boyfriend’s generosity and his vast knowledge of everything that pertains to Disneyland, I have tried some really good eats there.
Here are a few of my favorites in no particular order:
Funnel Cake at The Hungry Bear – Who doesn’t like funnel cake? And to think, I don’t have to wait for a carnival to come into town, but can actually go to Disneyland to eat this yummy goodness! Even better, they have different kinds of toppings – the classic Strawberry and powdered sugar, a rich fudge brownie topping, and my seasonal favorite of apple caramel! If the server is nice, they’ll even let you split the different kind of toppings on there.
Dill Pickle Popcorn in Cars Land at Disney’s California Adventure – This flavored popcorn may sound strange, but it is actually very good. I normally am not a big fan of pickles, but this flavored butter popcorn just has a hint of dill pickle flavor, so that it’s not too overpowering, and makes for a really great snack while standing in line to ride Radiator Springs Racers (one of my favorite rides which always has such a long wait time).
Dole Whip near the Tiki Room– This tropical pineapple soft-serve is a great snack to cool off on a hot day. Since it’s recently been in the 90s-100s here in sunny California in the middle of fall, the dole whip is always a refreshing dessert. It’s texture is creamy and light, and I can imagine myself somewhere on a tropical island. (The Tiki Room is also a great place to take naps if you’re tired in the middle of the day.)
Churros at carts around the parks – The classic churro is a great snack while waiting in line. There’s something about eating this snack with its soft interior, coated with the sweet cinnamon sugar, and crispy outside that makes it one of my favorite things to eat.
Ice Cream on Main Street – Eating ice cream at Disneyland while watching the fireworks is a magical experience. It is pretty amazing. Even though I am lactose intolerant, I will gladly take a lactaid pill and suffer some of the discomfort to eat ice cream. hah.
Beignets at the Mint Julep Bar or at The Jazz Kitchen– These New Orleans’ inspired donuts covered in powdered sugar are a great dessert. They have mickey-shaped beignets inside the park at the Mint Julep bar, or regular rectangular beignets at the Jazz Kitchen. The seasonal pumpkin beignets during the fall are also very good.
Fried Chicken at The Plaza Inn – I love fried chicken. This chicken is crunchy on the outside, and juicy on the inside, never dried out. They also serve this delicious chicken with a good heaping of mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, and biscuits! As my cousin once said after drinking a little too much at California Adventure, “These biscuits will definitely sober you up!”
Garlic Parmesan Pomme Frites at Cafe Orleans – While the Monte Cristo gets a lot of good press for being a deep fried ham and cheese sandwich, I actually really like the garlic pomme frites at Disneyland. Dipping these fries in the berry sauce that they normally serve with the Monte Cristo is absolutely delicious. The combination of the sweet and savory is so good!
