The details for our upcoming conference, Ecclesia & Ethics: A Eco-Friendly and Economically-Feasible Online Biblical Studies and Theology Conference, are being finalized. The ‘Call for Papers’ has ended and the parallel presentations have been selected. In addition to our main speakers – which includes notable figures like NT Wright, Stanley Hauerwas, Michael Gorman, Shane Claiborne, Brian Rosner, and more – we will have several additional presentations. We are uploading the titles, times, abstracts, and bios for each of the presenters; You can read more about these at this link. Both myself and co-blogger Matthew Wilcoxen will be given papers for the conference and you can read about our papers here (for mine) and here (for Matt).
If you haven’t signed up, now would be a good time to do so. All we request for access these wonderful presentations is a $10/£7 (minimum) donation to one of three charities that we’ve selected: (a) Bombay Teen Challenge, (b) The Simple Way, (c) World Vision; You can find out more about registration here.
The event will take place May 18th and 25th from 3pm—11pm GMT (7am—3pm PST; 9am—5pm CST; 10am—6pm EST).
Recently, Corban University (Oregon) has decided to partner with and sponsor us.
Over the past few weeks we’ve conducted several interviews with some of our keynote speakers to address the aims and intentions of our conference. Here are the links to each of those:
1) NT Wright
5) Nijay Gupta
If you’ve been to ETS or SBL or AAR or any other Bible/Theology conferences you know that these events are rich for the level of engagement that they offer. Our conference aims to capitalize on the strengths of these events while offering an affordable and accessible alternative to those who have never attended one of these events for either financial or travel or legal reasons. It is truly the only conference that you could attend entirely in your Pajamas!
