The new issue of JETS (Journal of the Evangelical Theological Society 55/1 [2012]) is now available. I co-wrote one of the articles with one of my professors from Biola, Dr. Jonathan M. Lunde. The article is titled, “Paul’s Creative & Contextual use of Isaiah in Ephesians 5:14” (pp.87-110). You can read a .pdf copy of the article on my Academia.edu profile. Check it out here. The article is intended to be read alongside another article that we co-wrote on the use of Psalm 68 in Ephesians 4.8 for Westminster Theological Journal, which is due out within a few weeks. The intent of the two sister articles was to provide a holistic treatment of the scriptural citations in Ephesians, since 4.8 and 5.14 are the only passages that introduce a citation with an explicit formula (“therefore it says”). Check it out if you’re interested and feel free to leave comments here.
